Notes: The book is tightly and squarely bound in the original blue cloth lettered in gilt to the spine. The text block is slightly browned to the edges and dusty to the top edge, with offsetting to the endpapers and a neat name to the front endpaper. The dust jacket is the original and not price clipped, it has minor chipping to most edges, some short closed tears and slight darkening to the spine, but it is rare to find a surviving example. Atwells illustrations present a cherubic and charming interpretation of J. M. Barries text: free from the darker psychological connotations, which, as with all the best fairy tales, lie just beneath the surface.
