Notes: First edition, with the title page correctly dated 1895; this is the standard format with plain edges to the text block and non-bevelled boards. The book is tightly bound in the original decorated boards, which are slightly age darkened, more so to the spine, but generally clean, there is a repaired tear to the cloth at the top of the spine and the corners are somewhat rubbed. The text block is slightly dusty and age toned, the hinges have been neatly repaired, there is an inscription to the front endpaper and a small booksellers sticker to the inside front board. Considered to be one of the most difficult Verne titles to find in first edition format.
